Exercisng Faith: Day 2
Day 2
Example: Hannah's Life
Unlike David, Hannah didn't face large giants. Her troubles were not loud, but the pain was just as deep. Hannah felt as if she had been cut off from the future. She was heavily exhausted and surrounded by emotional walls. She let grief consume her so much that she was blinded. She couldn't see the blessings she had been given. Even though she couldn't see her future or the blessings in front of her she continuously cried out to God. She vowed to give her blessing right back to him if he would just answer her. That vow was straight from her heart. (Her story is found in 1 Samuel 1&2)
Reflection: We may not be barren and begging the Lord to give us children, but we are feeling empty and hopeless just like Hannah. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that we have hope and a future in God. No matter what we feel like we can rest in that truth.
Actions:
Do not let your grief consume you. Grief is defined as deep and intense sadness or mental suffering. Some of the giants David fought were mental giants, just like Hannah's giants. Do not let the saddness overwhelm you. You can stand firm in faith and be joyful knowing that God has a plan for you. Not only does he have a plan he also has a reason, he is going to make this all work out for good because you love him.
Love is the secrect. Everything else will pass away but love is forever. God is love his uunconditional love for us is how he expects us to treat him in return. Yes his love is a gift but he created us in his image. That means he desires to know us as much as we desire to know him. We are not just his creation but his children.
So your action based on this example is to love him in return. Pray to him, talk to him, and sit in his presence like Hannah did. Speak from your heart. Your lips don't have to move. God hears you. Remember this remeber that your joy comes from the Lord. Turn on a praise song and start dancing after you get done pouring out your heart to God. Hannah did and she offered her blessing right back to God so he could use it for his glory. Follow her example and stay strong in the waiting.
