  Day 1 Example: David’s life David faced many giants. Not just the philistine soldier. His life was in danger and he spent many years in hiding. He lived in caves trusting in God to take care of the giants. When he finally came out of hiding he found his home burned to the ground. There were more giants to face but David stepped back and trusted God to take vengeance when it was time.(To read about these events you can start in 1st Samuel 17 when David fights his first giant.) Reflection: I'm not fighting tall men or women, but there are spiritual giants or spiritual attacks that I must face daily. There are bullies all throughout this world and I must choose to stand firm and let the Lord handle it.  Actions: First choose not to be a giant, don't be a fallen one. Stand firm, setting your feet upon the foundation of the gospel of peace.  Yes I'm referring to the armour of the Lord. Read Psalm 23 I praise the Lord my shepherd for I lack NOthing. He makes me lie down in pleasant places to give me rest. He refreshes my soul and guides me along the right path for his glory. Even though I walk through the darkness I am not afraid for my God is with me his rod and staff comforts me. He prepares a meal for me in front of my enemies. He anoints me with oil. My cup is never empty. Goodness and love follows me for eternity and I dwell safely in the house of my Lord forever. Amen.

Lord help me to spread your love. You are my strength and joy. Help me to tell others about you. People aren't always willing to accept you so I ask you to rescue me from the spiritual swords, dogs, lions, and oxen so I can declare your name is powerful. You deserve the praise no matter what. Help me Lord. Give me rest this evening and renew my strength by your spirit. Amen.

  The last full week in August Exercising Faith Daily  Let's talk a little more about our faith. How to keep our faith in the rough patches of life. We've been reading through Psalms, so we have a pretty good idea of what it looks like to remain faithful. It's easy to say I will trust you always or give you praise no matter what, however living in that trust or praise isn't always easy.  So this week we will learn practical ways to keep our faith.  Each post this week will have three sections: Example: A reminder of a faithful believer in the Bible. Reflection: How Or what relates to you and me. Action: Steps we can take action on to stay faithful.

 

Read Psalm 22 I praise you because you are never far away even when I don't see you. You're watching over me. You've been my God since you created me. Trouble may seem near but my help comes from you Lord.

Lord, I ask you to keep me safe from the wickedness of this world. Make me like you in the sense that my trust  in you is not shaken. I ask you for forgiveness of any wrong I've done that your wrath would not find me. I thank you for your unfailing love. Give me rest this evening and renew my strength by your spirit. Amen

 

Read Psalm 21 I give you praise this morning Lord for you came to me in a time of need and placed a golden crown on my head and called me yours. I praise you for the gift of eternal life with you. Thank you for the blessings you've given me because of your love for me.

Lord, Thank you for being with me today and for revealing the power of your right hand. Help me to seek you first and to lift your name like a banner of joy and victory. Give me rest this evening and renew my strength by your spirit. Amen

 

Read Psalm 20 I praise you for being my God, the one who protects me at all times. I praise you for sending help my way for blessing me and answering me with your right hand. I give you all my trust and I will wait for the victory you give.

Thank you Lord for all you've created. It's so special not only because it's beautiful to look at but because you've left us your description and reasoning of its creation. Thank you for desiring to have a relationship with us. Thank you for calling us friends. I hide these precious words in my heart and put all my trust in you, my Rock and my redeemer. Give me rest this evening and renew my strength by your spirit. Amen

 

Read Psalms 19 I see you when I look towards the heavens. The secrets to knowledge and wisdom lie within. All I must do is be still and silent before you, the Lord , trusting in you. You've given me everything I will ever need in your word. I praise you for the sweet words you've left behind for your children. Help me to keep them in my heart so I may share them with others. Amen

You have been so good to me Lord. You have taught me how to be an overcomer and I lift you on high for that. I ask that you continue to show me your favor. Give me rest this evening and renew my strength by your spirit. Amen

 

Read Psalm 18 Thank you for being my strength and refuge in times of need. You are always there for me. I may feel overwhelmed at times but you reward me when I choose to stay focused on you. I praise you for training me. I thank you for teaching me to battle the darkness, because of you Lord I have victory. I exalt you for that Lord my God. Amen

 I ask you to search me to examine my heart and make known my desires. Let it be cleansed from all evil ways that I may be a vessel for you Lord. Use me to spread your love to others and help them to find the straight and narrow gate that leads to eternal life with you Lord. give me rest this evening and renew my strength by your spirit. Amen. 

 

 Read Psalm 17 Lord, I praise you for keeping me as the apple of your eye. I am pleased that you examine my heart daily, searching for me. I desire to be faithful and firm and to put my trust in you. I praise you for another day to live my life for you. I desire to stay on the path you've chosen for me. I will call upon you when I am in trouble and you will hear me because I am your child and I have hid you in my heart, Lord. Thank you for revealing your great wonders and great love for me. I praise you for saving me and for allowing me to see your face, because I have seen your likeness. Amen

 Lord, I ask you to make your path clear to give me direction and guidance so I may stand firm with you. I ask you to set boundaries in my life and to show me those boundaries so I can remain faithful to you Lord. Give me rest this evening and renew my strength by your spirit. Amen
