Exercising Faith: Day 5

 Day 5

Example: Zaccheaus

Zaccheaus' story is short. There's a chldrens song about Zaccheaus an I'm sure we could probably sing it in about 30 seconds. Evenn though his story is short his faith was strong. He wanted to see the Lord, but everyone was pushing him back. I'm sure to Zaccheaus a short guy they all looked like giants to him. To make matters worse they all hated him because of his title. They didn't know him like Jesus did. Jesus saw his heart that genuinely desired  to know him.

Reflection: Zaccheaus was judged and falsely accused just like we are. Everyday we face people who dislike us, dislike our clothes, the way we walk or talk, even the way we style our hair. They accuse us of many things they don't understand us. They don't know us. We must choose to be strong in faith and rise above the giants. Zaccheaus rised above, he climbed a tree so he could keep his focus on Jesus.

Actions:

First, I want us to examine ourselves. Look inwardly at our hearts and decide if Jesus is first. Set our priorities striaght. Jesus comes first. Our relationship with Jesus is the most important thing, everything else will work out. Make sure Jesus is first, if he's not then  ask for forgiveness ask him to help you put him first, ask him to show you ways to make extra time for him.

Next, look to the hills. Keep looking up. Keep your focus on the Lord. think about things that are above, things that are pure, honest, just, of good report and virtue. Do not think on things that cause stress or fear. Trust in the Lord and take each day one at a time. Remember that giants are invaders of peace and The Lord is our peace. Rest in his presence knowing the truth will set you free.
