Exercising Faith: Day 3
Day 3
Example: Daniel's Life
Daniel faced giant's too like being in the lions den. He trusted in God escpecially during the waiting. He had to wait in the lion's den. He believed in God to deliver him and answer him even though he couldn't see physically how God was going to do that. Waiting is a giant that causes axniety. Unless we stay grounded in faith. Daniel prayed and fasted 21 days while he waited on an answer from the Lord. If he wasn't seeking the Lord during this time he would have been discouraged. Seeking the Lord is what kept Daniel during the rough patches of life.
Reflection: We all have trouble waiting. Its hard to remain faithful andd persistent when we can't see the outcome. That's where faith comes in. Faith is our evidence that the outcome will be victory in Christ our deliverer.
Actions:
Like Daniel we should be persistent. He believed in God and prayed to God desipte what anyone else thought. His trust in God caused nonbelivers to cast him into the lion's den, but his faith never waviered. Stand firm and be persistent in faith. Remind yourself daily that God is working it all out.
Persistence doesn't stop that be persitent in prayer. The Lord sent the angel to daniel to meet his needs, but the darkness tried to stop the angel from getting through. The key word is tried, the angel succeded in getting through the darkness because of Daniel's persistency in prayer. If Daniel had given up and stopped praying the angel wouldn't have continued his journey to Daniel.
Be mindful of delays. Sometimes God says yes, sometimes he says no, and sometimes he says to wait on the conditions to change. Some delays are because of our disbelief, other delays are because we aren't ready or the circumstances around us aren't ready. When mana fell down from heaven it was conditional. The condition being the Isrealites were in the desert a dry land where they had no other option but to trust in God.
We have so much more knowledge today then they did so let's start by trusting God before we get into a dry land. Let's trust God even though we might get tossed into a lion's den. Don't get discouraged if God says not yet wait til the timing is right. Remember that he will raise you up on wings like an eagles and he will be your strength if you ust wait on him.
